Parsons is pleased to announce that Heather Shinn, Vice President and Program Manager, has been re-elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) for another 3-year term. Ms. Shinn, a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) and a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP), has led CM/PM projects for more than 20 years. Her portfolio includes multimillion-dollar federal projects for the Federal Aviation Administration, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and Intelligence Community customers. Ms. Shinn was recognized by Engineering News-Record Mid-Atlantic in 2013 as one of its Top 20 Under 40, which celebrates the excellence of young design and construction professionals in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Ms. Shinn has been a member of CMAA since 2003 and has been active at the national level since 2009. She was elected to the CMAA Board of Directors in 2015.
The CMAA is the only organization in North America dedicated exclusively to the advancement of professional CM/PM through activities such as training and the setting of industry standards. Established in 1982, the association currently has more than 16,000 members, including individual CM/PM practitioners, corporate members, and construction owners in both the public and private sectors.
