Making The World A Better Place

Parsons Gives Back is an employee-driven program that serves the communities in which we live, work, and play. Charitable contributions, in-kind donations, and volunteerism directly correlate with improving quality of life while making the world a better place. Our Parsons Gives Back program is primarily focused on three key areas:

We want to make a positive impact on the world around us. That’s why each year, as part of Parsons’ holiday wishes, our employees select charities to support. In 2021, the charities included the following:

Volunteering

Our employees are rock stars and the driving force behind the Parsons Gives Back program. Since 2019, we’ve self-reported nearly 45,000 hours of personal community involvement. Despite the limitations imposed by the global pandemic, we’ve risen to the challenge and found new and innovative ways to give back to communities during the pandemic.

We’ve donated to blood and food drives, helped schools convert to online learning, joined environmental cleanup efforts, served homeless communities, used our 3D printers to make PPE, and supplied items to First Nations and US military veterans and their families, just to name a few. We celebrate our employee superheroes through our Volunteers of the Year and other employee recognition programs.

Tragedy Assistance Program For Survivors (TAPS)

The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to offering compassionate care to those grieving the loss of a loved one who died while serving in the Armed Forces or as a result of his or her service. In the last 14 years, we’ve helped raise $1,058,349. Learn more about TAPS.

Modern Military Association Of America (MMAA)

We’ve partnered with the Modern Military Association of America (MMAA), the nation’s largest LGBTQ military and veteran nonprofit organization, to provide funding for the 2021 MMAA Military Spouse Scholarship and the 2021 Donna Johnson Equality and Valor Award. Learn more about this partnership.

MILVET

We support several other veteran and military causes, including Wounded Warrior, QL+, the Special Operations Charity Network, and Home Front Cares, through our MILVET program. Learn More.

Education/STEM Outreach

Parsons has been named one of the top employers for STEM diversity. We aim to continue to create opportunities for the growth of talent from diverse communities. From our mentoring, scholarship, and training programs like Hire LAX to our participation and sponsorship of programs such as Girls Lead the Way and STEAM Innovation Challenge for Northern Virginia high school students, we’re excited to support and encourage the next generation of innovators.

Architecture Construction Engineering Mentor Program

Since 1995, our employees have served as board members, team leaders, and mentors with the Architecture Construction Engineering (ACE) Mentor Program. This program introduces high school students to careers in the design and construction industry through real-world mock design and engineering projects. Learn More.

We have partnered with Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University to speak with STEM students about summer internship and full-time opportunities. Learn More.

Fellows Program

Our Parsons Fellows program recognizes top technical talent across the organization and aims at fostering engagement, mentorship, and innovation. Our Fellows deliver presentations and demonstrations around the world and are featured in dozens of industry publications annually. They also serve as mentors in their communities. Learn More.

Vibrant Communities

We’re proud of our employees’ impact on our communities, which helps achieve our corporate purpose of delivering a better world. Through corporate Parsons Gives Back events, our employees have raised money for the 24 Foundation and Feeding America, volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and the Kids to Love Foundation. They’ve also and participated in environmental cleanups and conservation efforts. Individually, employees have donated blood and plasma, helped build clean water infrastructure, delivered food and supplies to quarantined or vulnerable communities, and coached and supported those with disabilities, among many other actions resulting from asking where and how they can make a difference. From corporate-sponsored activities to individual and community involvement, our employees strive to make the world a better place.

Bridges To Prosperity

Since 2015, we’ve collaborated with Bridges to Prosperity (B2P). B2P is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing isolated communities with access to healthcare, education, food, and economic opportunities by building footbridges over otherwise impassable rivers. Not only have we held annual fundraisers for B2P, to date, our volunteer teams have built five bridges for the organization. Learn More.

48in48 Virtual Coding Marathon

Since 2019, we’ve volunteered for 48in48, an organization that builds web sites for non-profits in need. Our volunteers have designed more than 20 web sites by participating in 48-hour weekend events, including specialized Social Justice and Women’s builds. In 2022, 48in48 awarded our team a 3^rd place prize for the web site we built for Bridges to Science. Learn more.
